Avengers Endgame Trailer, Elseworlds Review

It’s a double whammy return to the airwave for Geekville Radio. Join Seth “Zandrax” Zillmann and “Crazy Train” Jonathan Bolick as they talk about the two giant stories in the comic superhero world.

Whammy #1 – The world is still buzzing over the first Avengers Endgame Trailer. What can we expect from some of the nuggets dropped in that teaser? How can Tony get saved? Could we see Rescue? Adam Warlock perhaps? And what about that reveal of Hawkeye as Ronin?

Whammy #2 – The CW did their annual “Arrowverse” crossover Elseworlds. While it was only three parts instead of the usual four, it did finally bring Lois Lane into the show, as well as introduced the CW viewers to Gotham City and Batwoman. With all the hints dropped at famous Batman villains, could we finally be seeing The Caped Crusader on CW Programming?

All this and more in another fun-filled Geekville Radio

Avengers Inifinty War Review

In case you hadn’t heard, a little independent artsy film was released this past weekend called Avengers: Infinity War. Seth and Crazy Train spend the better part of two hours breaking down the film and talking the full movie. Easter Eggs, trivial knowledge, and differences between the movie and the comics.

To kick off the show Train takes a look at the unprecedented media blitz for the movie. Including the hilarious mashup with The Brady Bunch as it appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon

The main part of the show dives into the plot and ramifications of the story (Yes, this means SPOILERS) and some of the surprising apparent fates of the heroes.

The final segment of the show is devoted to speculation on the future of the MCU, and what might happen in Phase Four.

Geekville Radio #180: San Diego Comic Con Coverage

Justice League Trailer

The Flash standalone movie will be an adaption of Flashpoint, which is funny because that was the gist of Season 3 of The Flash TV show. Could this mean we see Jeffrey Dean Morgan?

Also discussed during the show: A Green Lantern Corps. Movie, Justice League Dark, Shazam, and Aquaman.

Speaking of Aquaman, Seth reminisces about this scene from Justice League Unlimited, which Jason Momoa would absolutely kill it doing.

Over in the DC TV Realm, we got trailers for all the Flarrowverse titles

Arrow Season 6 Trailer

The Flash Season 4 Trailer

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 3 Trailer

Supergirl Season 3 Trailer

Also announced for TV, Young Justice Season 3: Outsiders. Which sadly will not star Scott Hall and Kevin Nash– Oh wait… wrong Outsiders.

And finally, some notes about the Black Lightning panel.

In Marvel news, there was an Avengers Infinity War trailer shown, but it hasn’t been released to the public. Thus we are limited to knowledge on what was actually shown. How many faces were actually seen in the trailer? And who’s left to be seen?

Thor Ragnarok Trailer

Black Panther Trailer

It was revealed that the Captain Marvel movie will be set in the 1990’s with Skrulls as the villains.

Over in Marvel TV, we got a new Defenders Trailer, complete with a wonderfully evil Sigourney Weaver

Geekville Radio Episode 162

Marvel dropped a surprise final trailer for the upcoming Netflix Iron Fist series. We finally get to see Danny Rand’s live action look. Seth and Crazy Train are back to dissect the trailer, and give thoughts on what we can expect for the first season.

In case you weren’t one of the four million (and counting) views, check the trailer out for yourself below

In other Marvel news, we got a behind the scenes look at the now filming Avengers: Infinity War. Not only do we get glimpses of concept art and words from Kevin Feige, we get Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, and Chris Pratt side by side in the same room. Plus, we got official confirmation that Rocket Raccoon will be in the movie as well.

In the latter half of the show, Seth and Train talk the departure of Peter Capaldi from Doctor Who using a list of potential successors published by Digital Spy. Who does an admitted non-Whovian think would be a good Thirteenth Doctor? Some of Train’s selections might surprise you. This is a discussion far more suited for the casual Doctor Who fans than the discussion Seth and Mark had over at Examining The Doctor.

In the final segment of the show, Seth flies solo to give a quick review of The Lego Batman. Does it live up to the expectations set by the original Lego Movie?

What are your thoughts on these subjects? We’d like to hear from you below.
