Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious coming in Fall 2020

BBC Studios has announced an all-new Doctor Who story featuring multiple Doctors that will be released this Fall. Time Lord Victorious will be released across multiple platforms, including audio, comics, and books.

The project seems similar to the Star Wars Legends story Shadows Of The Empire in 1996. LucasFilm released that story over just about every platform except theaters or TV. Books, audiobooks, comics, games, and music soundtracks were all produced.

The official BBC Doctor Who Website stated the following in a press release.

Time Lord Victorious will be set within the Dark Times at the start of the universe, when even the Eternals were young. It features the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Doctors, travelling across Space and Time as they defend the universe from a terrible race.
As well as three Doctors, companion Rose Tyler and monsters including the Daleks and the Ood will feature, plus more to be revealed over the coming months as products are announced.

Big Finish Productions, Titan Comics, BBC Books, and Doctor Who Magazine are among the partners in this project. The rollout will start this September, with the other chapters and contributions released through January 2021.

Big Finish has been producing original Doctor Who audio dramas featuring several returning cast members including Tenth Doctor David Tennant and Eighth Doctor Paul McGann. Stories featuring the Ninth Doctor have been released, but Christopher Eccleston has not participated in them. As of yet, no information regarding Eccleston’s involvement with Time Lord Victorious has been given. If Eccleston does sign on, it will be the first time he returned to the role since his departure in 2005’s “The Parting Of The Ways”.

Titan Comics currently has the license for Doctor Who comic book line. They have also published original stories featuring classic and current Doctors since 2014.

September seems like a long way away, but we will keep you posted on everything we know about this new chapter in the Doctor Who lore.
