Geekville Radio #346: Examining the X-Men ’97 Trailer

The first trailer for X-Men ’97, which is set to air on Disney+ this year

Disney announced X-Men ’97 a few years back. As the name implies, it takes place in 1997 and is a direct sequel to X-Men: The Animated Series, which ran on Fox in the mid-1990s.

Not only does it reunite the cast and characters from the original show, but it is also done in the same animation style as well. There are no 3D renderings or obvious CGI to be found. We took a deep dive into this trailer to see what we could find. As always, we reserve the right to cry and complain if our predictions are wrong.

Two legends in their respective fields passed away five years ago this week in the form of Stan Lee and Roy Clark. Stan Lee was of course the major force behind Marvel Comics for decades and created some of the most popular superheroes of all time. Roy Clark was a legendary country musician perhaps best known as one of the regulars of the musical comedy series Hee Haw.
