Mark Hamill vs. Patrick Stewart in epic Uber Eats commercials

Mark Hamill and Patrick Stewart are both iconic actors in their respective franchises, Star Wars and Star Trek. But the two never crossed paths onscreen…

…Until now

Uber Eats produced this commercial that had a baseball bat-wielding Hamill confront a cricket-bat wielding Stewart. The two then seem to confusingly end their feud when the food arrives.

Other shorter commercials see the two legends battle each other in Air-Hockey and Connect Four.

2:04 – BIRDS OF PREY: WHAT HAPPENED?

Seth reviewed Birds Of Prey last week. This week he and Train talk about why the movie underperformed in theaters. Excuses have ranged from the R-Rating to the tiring “It’s Men’s Fault” statement. The majority of viewers were male. Was it a Harley Quinn movie? Or was it an ensemble piece? Does this bode well for Black Widow in a few months?

Mark Hamill is Chucky in the Child’s Play Reboot

Star Wars icon Mark Hamill has added another high profile voice role to his resume. The actor made the announcement via a prerecorded appearance for WonderCon that he will be voicing Chucky in the theatrical Child’s Play reboot.

The announcement appeared on Hamill’s official Twitter shortly afterward.

It is important to note that this theatrical reboot is not to be confused with the Syfy TV show Chucky. That series is run by the franchise’s original creator Don Mancini, and will remain in the continuity of the previous films. Veteran Chucky voice Brad Dourif will reprise the role for the series.

The reboot opens June 21st in theaters, and will be directed by Lars Klevberg from a story by Kung Fury‘s Tyler Burton Smith. The series will bow this fall on Syfy.

Hamill is currently appearing in season 2 of Knightfall on The History Channel, and is rumored to have a role in the next Guardians Of The Galaxy film for Disney.

Mark Hamill’s Role In Guardians 3?

Science Fiction icon Mark Hamill is allegedly back in negotiations to appear in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3. It was widely reported last year that Hamill had talks with director James Gunn, but what role they had discussed remained under wraps.

Of course, Gunn was famously fired by Disney last year over controversial tweets made a decade previously. Gunn was re-hired earlier this month, but no major casting news came about in the interim.

Now the site We Got This Covered is reporting that Hamill may in fact be in talks to play Rocket Raccoon’s creator. This could easily be an original character, or a take on secondary or tertiary characters from the Marvel Universe.

In the comics, Rocket has no specific creator. He came from a planet called Halfworld, in which animals were genetically enhanced by robotic users to have human-like characteristics. Rocket served as a law enforcement officer for the Keystone Quadrant, thus literally making him a Keystone Cop. He and his then counterpart Wal Russ (Yes, a talking walrus) once infiltrated the planet to rescue their friend Princess Lynx from Lord Dyvyne. They battled with Blackjack O’Hare’s Black Bunny Brigade (Yes, a mercenary group of bunnies) while making their escape.

Rocket was also at some point held captive by a villain called The Stranger, and managed to escape his clutches.

To be clear, these are all speculative possibilities based on Rocket’s history. The true role Hamill will play, if hired, has not been publicly discussed.

Hamill is no stranger to the comic book world. He most famously provided the voice of The Joker for many years in various Batman productions. He portrayed James Jesse, aka The Trickster in the short lived 1990 Flash TV series. A role he recently reprised for the current CW show. He’s also voiced various characters including Wolverine and Hobgoblin for Marvel, and Darth Bane for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Currently, he is a regular in Season 2 of The History Channel’s series Knightfall.

So what character could the Jedi Joker be playing on the big screen? Personally, our money is on the mercenary bunny…

Mark Hamill’s TV Show Did a Jedi Level Trolling of Star Wars Fans

Mark Hamill has never been one to pass up a good opportunity to have a little fun affectionately trolling fans. In 2016 the Star Wars icon famously teased an exclusive behind the scenes look at Luke’s training of Rey from Episode VIII. When the reveal finally came, it was clear that the picture was a punchline to a joke.

Last week, a tweet about “Episode VIII” was made by the page for Hamill’s TV show Pop Culture Quest.

Alas the reveal was a look at the eighth episode of of the series, not a look at the upcoming Star Wars film.

Still, the Jedi Joker couldn’t help but have a little self deprecating fun over the gag.
